261 TOLL ROAD
* Nighttime closures Mon., Oct. 13 through Fri., October 17: Caltrans will close the northbound and southbound 261 Toll Road from Walnut Avenue to the 241 Toll Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday. The southbound on ramp at Santiago Canyon and the northbound on and off ramps at Portola and Irvine Blvd will also be closed. The closures are required as Caltrans continues work on the 261 Toll Road asphalt overlay project.
* Detours: Southbound 241 Toll Road traffic wishing to use the southbound 261 Toll Road will exit Santiago Canyon Road, turn right onto Santiago Road and continue to Jamboree Road. Turn left onto Jamboree or Portola, Irvine Blvd or Walnut Ave. Santiago Canyon Road, Chapman Ave., Portola and Irvine Blvd traffic will also be diverted to Jamboree Road.
Northbound 261 Toll Road traffic to exit Jamboree Road and continue to Irvine Blvd, Portola or Santiago Canyon Road/Chapman Ave. At Santiago Canyon Road/Chapman Ave., traffic continuing northward on the southbound 241 Toll Road will turn right onto Santiago Canyon Road to the northbound 241 on ramp.

* Nighttime closures Mon., Oct. 6 through Friday, Oct. 10: Caltrans will close the southbound 261 Toll Road from the southbound 241 Toll Road to Walnut Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday. The southbound on ramp at Santiago Canyon Road and southbound on and off ramps at Portola and Irvine Blvd will also be closed. The closures are required as Caltrans begins its asphalt overlay project on the 261 Toll Road, which is expected to continue through October. The first week of work entails removing the existing striping and installation of temporary striping, which is required prior to placement of the asphalt overlay.
* Detours: Southbound 241 Toll Road traffic to exit Santiago Canyon Road, turn right onto Santiago Canyon Road and continue onto Jamboree Road. Make a left onto Jamboree Road and continue onto Portola, Irvine Blvd or Walnut Ave. Santiago Canyon Road, Chapman Ave., Portola and Irvine Blvd traffic will also be diverted to Jamboree Road.

The closures are required to remove existing striping and install temporary striping on the roadway.
Detours: Northbound 261 Toll Road traffic to exit Jamboree Road and continue to Irvine Blvd, Portola or Santiago Canyon Road/Chapman Ave. At Santiago Canyon Road/Chapman Ave., traffic continuing northward on the 241 Toll Road will turn right onto Santiago Canyon Road to the northbound 241 on ramp.
These closures are in addition to the southbound 261 Toll Road closures described above.
